Siltbuster are looking for an Apprentice Electrical Engineer to work and study to build knowledge, develop skills and gain experience to become a Mechanical Engineer.
Learn how to work safely with electrical equipment, understand electrical drawings, build, and assemble electrical controls and fault find and repair a range of electrical equipment to a professional standard.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Attend college and undertake training, assessments, and progress reviews, including regular meetings with a Company appointed Mentor, who will work with you to agree targets for your apprenticeship and role performance.
- Develop a full understanding of Company operations, systems, products, and equipment, through the active involvement in the design, build, assembly, and installation functions.
- Perform electrical engineering duties and specific project work based on your competence level including diagnosing and rectifying faults in hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and PLC systems, modifications, and improvements to improve efficiency and performance and planned maintenance activities such as lubrication and inspections.
- Carry out specific projects and duties requested by the line manager and adhere to quality plans in the design and build of Company equipment
- Ensure full and accurate documentation of all planned and breakdown work
- You will keep all necessary records required as part of your role and training as part of your apprenticeship, and ensure that these are kept up to date as required.
- You must comply at all times with Company policies, rules, and procedures
- You must comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, including, but not limited to health, safety, environment, quality, and data protection, in respect of your role and employment with the Company.

- Handle equipment/parts in such a way to avoid unnecessary damage and as such unnecessary cost to the company
Qualifications and Experience required for the Electrical Engineer Apprentice
- 3 GCSEs or equivalent (including English, Maths and a Science) at Grade C or above
- A valid driving licence (or reliable transport)
- Acts with integrity
- Self-motivated and prepared to learn new skills with a can-do approach
- Good work ethic with high level of attention to detail
